Vineyard est. 2004 -- Winery est. 2008

The Chateau Tissot Winery features a backgound of the castle in Valangin, Switzerland along with the Tissot family Coat-of-arms. We have a family genealogy which traces our ancestry over 14 continuous generations from the USA to the mid-1500s and Jacques Tissot, the Mayor of Valangin. Our family genealogy also includes additional Swiss ancestors dating back to 1285. Although there is no evidence that our ancestors lived in Valangin Castle, it serves as a link to our family roots in Switzerland.

The Tissot Coat-of-arms dates to 1362. The helm represents a barred helmet, often reserved for nobility, with a young eagle on the crest surrounded by a mantling of yellow and red. The division of the field on the shield is used to express alliance, inheritance, and/or occupation of an office between two coat-of-arms. In this case, the mature eagle on a red shield is joined with a yellow (signifying gold) shield with three 3-leaf clovers. Our family motto is "without end."

Any further information on Castle Valangin or our coat-of-arms would be greatly appreciated, just e-mail me.
